Flower Care

Flowers will be transported in water, but we do not deliver buckets with fresh flower bouquets that do not include a vase.

Place flowers into cold water as soon as they have been delivered.

Follow the instructions on the flower food sachet.

Cut stems at an angle, roughly 2 cm from the tip of the stem.

Make sure there are no leaves on the stems submerged in water.

Flowers should be placed in a cool environment and out of direct sunlight.
We recommend changing the water and re-trimming the stems every two days.

Roses naturally come with a protective outer layer of petals known as “guard” petals. Sometimes these petals look damaged, a bit sad or even have a green tinge to them. These petals should be gently removed to allow for the rose to open up beautifully.

Some flowers such as gerberas, single chrysanthemums or certain proteas may arrive in what looks like a sock. This is kept on protecting the flower during transit. This can be removed by slowly and gently pulling the sock off the top of the flower.

For floral arrangements in oasis (a green, foam-like block), simply ‘water’ the arrangement as close as possible to the oasis, like you would a plant, but make sure not to get water on the flowers themselves.

Aim to pour water on the oasis base in various places. This will ensure the stems are hydrated.
